For people who have imposter syndrome, they need more of guidance of how to recover from the success while they usually have less issues to deal with ‘the downs’ in their life. A peaceful status of putting into balanced efforts is ongoing until it is interrupted by a specific success or goal that they are longing for. Soon external feedback and internal dialogues come one by one and suddenly the peace is replaced with this storm of being successful triggered. This scares them.
How to retrieve our peace? First of all, acknowledge that we want to achieve the success again in the future, because it is probably something that we have attached our core value to at the moment. But also by adding something else to reduce the concentration of it, it can be other minor life challenges including hobbies to moderate our need of being more ambitious. In this way, we won’t put too much pressure on ourselves for achieving ‘The Success’ soon again, while at some time we can still feel that we are making progress overall (the perception of the stagnation/backsliding after the success can be amplified a lot). In order to solidify the triangle of peace, holding on our routine of eating, sleeping, exercising, keeping in touch with family and friends is also helpful. It will help ground us as a simple human animal gradually, instead of a machine of success.
Eventually, a new status of inner peace of carrying on is formed!
