Rethink illness: do not wait for the recovery.

I have been coughing for six days. It seems that I am getting better.

While waiting for the return of my health, I thought that I need to pause my work and personal life for a few days. The linear thinking here is ‘okay, I will wait to do things after I recover’. However, there are lots of uncertainty involving why do I get sick? will I get better? if so when will that happen? There is no definite answer, we can only wait in pain if we insist on waiting.

Emotionally, patience and hope are badly needed. Physically, we do not need to pause our life waiting for the recovery to come. The gist of the mentality is ‘yes, I am sick, so what?’ Rationally, it doesn’t impact the time we have had, and we are having now, let alone the future which doesn’t exist.

Also illness is not necessarily a bad thing, it is tiring, annoying but it gave a opportunity for our body to rest, to recover, to rebuild by collapsing at the moment.

So embrace the sickness if we have to, just live the moment, just carry on.
