When to rest in a work flow?

I like to take a break when I know how to do a certain task already.

like the flow of doing things involving which information and technology at which points. Since I know the rest of the task is just a matter of time.

It is also like when I have a very clear idea in writing, e.g I know which reference to combine, how to compare, what kind of insights it could lead to. Then I would allow myself to be relaxed for a while until I go back to the task at hand.

Before I also heard that it is better to rest when you know exactly to do the things, then it would be more tempting for us to continue the work later on. Instead of struggling to start as before, at this point to rest, we wouldn’t help feeling being pulled back to the task, due to the easiness of achieving the goal we could perceive, similar to our surged motivational level when it comes to the last mile in daily running goal, a few last push-ups to do, and etc.,

So no matter how complex things can look like at first glance, the next step goal could be always to make it a little bit easier to understand, and break it down a little bit easier to work on…

This could help with effectiveness, pleasure and procrastination, because there is so much interesting things/temptation we can be pulled over to other than work….
