How fast can we accept reality?

Pain comes from imagination: ” I could perform better’, ” I could have more meaningful to express” , ”I should control myself ”, ” I should not say that”, all sorts of regret , pity and shame, you name it.

Positive reflection for improvement should be able to be pushed forward into action in the similar situation, if it was just emotional pain, better to move on without the negative reflection.

This hits me that it seems that our healing speed depends on how fast we can accept reality after something happened. The more we reject the updated reality, the more we troubled ourselves with situation that we can not make any change for. The enemy or the challenge is not just the new situation to cope with, but also our imagination of ‘a better past’.

Are we gaining more insights or neural connection in such tangling between ‘past’ and ‘future’?

Ps: just being rejected by one company about the research collaboration.

There is rarely something that can guarantee us the stable pleasure or any sorts of certainty all the time.
