Always stressed? No ultimate goal? Only relax while concentrated?

Could be a certain level of stress, and the elusiveness of our (ultimate) goals is part of the nature of our life? I mean that only if we are living at least as human-being, we probably will feel always stressed and we will always feel disconnected to those goals set up by others or ourselves, regardless of who we are, where we are, what we do and etc., The stress and the feeling of lost is evolving but never disappear.

We can bury ourselves into more and more tasks, then the stress becomes achieving those really tangible goals within a certain time frame, which someone might call it as motivation. I feel that it is more like a game we join or set up for ourselves, which could be writing for more publications, running more miles, lifting more weights, playing more instruments and etc.,

Such way working for me to really feel relaxed is to be concentrated on doing something. It could be anything that I feel interested and being able to focus on doing the things itself, like writing, swimming, playing guitar and etc., The concentration or flow status is relaxed but also consume energy, which sounds contradicting to the concept of relaxing. The limitation of filling in our time with such tangible goals is that we are just bearing the stress and the feeling of lost in a more tolerable way.
